Kara King is a lifelong conservative, proud Texan, and proven leader now running to represent Texas’ 10th Congressional District in the United States Congress. As Mayor of Bee Cave, Kara has shown what conservative leadership looks like in action- balancing budgets, cutting waste, protecting taxpayers, and standing up for the values that make Texas strong.
Kara is a staunch supporter of President Donald J. Trump and the America First movement. She believes Washington has lost touch with hardworking Texans and that it’s time to send real conservative fighters—not Washington D.C. insiders—to defend our freedom, faith, and families. Her campaign is grounded in the belief that our nation’s greatness depends on secure borders, strong families, safe communities, and a government that answers to the people, not the other way around.
Born in Colorado Springs and raised in Texas, Kara learned early the value of hard work, faith, and personal responsibility. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 1998 with a degree in Biomedical Science, giving her a strong foundation in evidence-based problem-solving and public policy. Before entering public office, Kara worked as a middle school science teacher, shaping the next generation of Texans at Lake Travis and Bee Cave Middle Schools.
Elected Mayor in 2020 and re-elected in 2022 and 2024, Kara earned the trust of her community through common-sense leadership, promoting transparency and open communication between her and the community and results that speak for themselves. Under her leadership, Bee Cave kept one of the lowest property tax rates in Texas while maintaining a balanced budget and earning the city’s first-ever AAA bond rating. She fought relentless former community during 2 natural disasters, led her community through COVID and fought for her small business to survive during the government shutdown.
In Congress, Kara King will bring that same no-nonsense, results-driven leadership to Washington. She will fight to close the border and stop illegal immigration, defend our energy independence, stand with law enforcement, protect our children from radical indoctrination, and put America—and Texas—first. Kara will always back our military, defend the unborn, and protect the Second Amendment with no apologies.
Kara is married to Ben King, a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran and pilot. Together, they are raising three children, one of whom is currently serving in the United States Marine Corps. Their family embodies the values Kara fights for every day—faith, freedom, and love of country.
